What do you love?

What’s your style? Lots of people say they don’t know …. that’s ok! Most peeps know what they don’t like so that’s a good starting point. From stating what you can’t stand you often are able to figure out what you do like even if it doesn’t get a specific style name! Who wants to live in a categorised box anyway!

One of my Favourites - Eccentric Homes

Rebellion?

I wonder if my most recent + again renewed interest in bohemian & eccentric styling in homes stems from a rebellion against main stream, commercialism, Scandi and trends. We've seen a whole array of deer heads recently .... paper ones, cardboard ones, wooden ones and before that we had owls, flamingoes & pineapples - lol that was fun to write!

So here's an addition to Dwell's Library, 'ECCENTRIC HOMES' .... by the way this style is one that you cannot go out and create in a flash. It's ever evolving, gathering momentum, a story of your life really :)

Here at Dwell HQ we have a book budget. The amount designated to each of us was debated a bit - then we came to a dollar amount to spend on books & mags per financial year - then we spent all of it very quickly! No we are not laughing out loud! Hence I bought my latest book with my own personal dosh $ ;)

Todd Selby's first ever book, The Selby is in Your Place was published in 2010. Who is he?? Well the back cover tells you that he did portrait & fashion shoots for mags such as Vogue Paris & The New York Times Magazine for over 10 years. This inspired his project of snooping {with permission} through peoples homes taking photos of them , their stuff, their favourite things & drawing illustrations of them too - my kinda hobby! Some of the uber cool include Helena Christensen {love her} and Karl Lagerfeld {love him}.
