It seems a shame to keep beautiful colours indoors so I searched for a little inspiration and some ideas for bringing colour outside… This red setting has lots of pattern and variation of the one colour, even the food and beverages are red! Having lots of green and a hint of white keeps it fresh without it becoming overwhelming.
The table setting below has a rustic country feel even though the colours are very feminine. I love the woven twig balls hanging from the trees and the flowers running through the middle of the table really anchor the colours while adding a touch of whimsy. Do you like how they have deliberately mis-matched the chairs? I think it gives a more casual feel as does the linen table cloth.
Now here's a bit more punchy colour! Accessories add the interest here, lots of contrasting colours though the patterns and motifs are very similar in shape. I actually have that chandelier and love it just as much now as when I first bought it but never thought to hang it in a conservatory or sun room - mind is ticking over now….
How sweet is the picnic setting below? I would love to recreate this for a bridal shower, a high tea (or low tea as the case may be) or birthday party I think a teen would especially love this (minus the wine glasses of course)...
And finally - for part one - this retro 'Barbie' setting (it does kind of remind you of Barbie doesn't it?). Can you imagine how ugly this courtyard would be without this pretty setting? Those red bricks are awful but with the addition of bright white chairs, watermelon chair pads, a bold table cloth and that impressively patterned surfboard it disappears into the background… Stay tuned for part two….
