Do More or Less?

Selling your home? What do you do to enhance it's value and appeal but not spend a motza & have it be a lengthy process? Recently in the Domain Section of the SMH there was an article called 'Renovating for Sale: Often less is more'

Here are some of our favourites...

Get rid of that ordinary letterbox. You know the one that you never replaced when you bought the house - the one that is $25 from the local hardware. The beauty below can be found at www.wayfair.com.au {it looks smart & is under $100}

Paint your front door. First impressions count. The brick on this house looks fairly ordinary. The pop of yellow welcomes you & gives an air of happiness. {cheap facelift}

Replacing the dowdy lights at your front door again help with that 'buy me because I look good' feeling. Add some balance to the entry to your home by placing plants either side of the front door too. {A bit of Feng shui helps even if the buyer is unaware of what is happening!}

Paint the interior. Choose a 'white' and yes there are many. This is not a time to be adventurous. Choose a slightly warm white such as Dulux Natural White  or call us if you're stuck. Don't over think it - you're selling!

Bathroom looks dowdy? Paint the tiles (really easy), paint the grout, replace toilet roll holder, waste bin, new shower curtain if that is the style, put new towels on the rails, baskets on the floor + add nice soap ... cross fingers
