A local favourite in Kiama is Always Flowers. This gorgeous little boutique de fleuriste has recently changed hands and is now in the loving care of new owner Georgie Kaye.
Georgie and I first met while studying floristry and over the past couple of years have spent time in class and in a local florist shop together 'learning the ropes'. It was only a matter of time before Georgie grew wings and found a place of her own to perfect her craft.
I popped in a few weeks ago and took a few pics of the interior and see how the girl was getting on. It is such a lovely rustic space and with the addition of some gorgeous blooms and homewares it really is a great place to visit. Rough brick walls, industrial style pendants and concrete floors are the perfect contrast to delicate and colourful flowers.
Georgie attends the flower markets herself to hand select the best quality flowers and foliage and search for not so ordinary things to add an element of surprise to each and every bouquet. Of course that makes it nearly impossible to leave without grabbing a bunch of stunning flowers to take home and admire.
Georgie arranges flowers for birthdays, special occasions, anniversaries and funerals. Weddings are a speciality and you can be sure that your big day will be all the more fabulous when you order your flowers from Always Flowers but be sure to book well in advance. ou also need to get in quick on Valentines Day and Mothers Day - the two busiest days in any florist's calendar.
Next time you are passing make sure you call in and say hi - oh and don't forget to invest in a sweet little posie while you are there!
